Children/Youth Mentor Policy This policy will be followed for reviewing applicants who are interested in teaching Sunday School or serving as Youth Mentors. Children’s Workers - Must have application completed - Must be regular church attendees (minimum of 3 months) - Must complete “Reducing the Risk Training”. - Must pass a back ground check. - Must have two teachers (per 5 children) at all times. - Must be interviewed by someone on advisory team. - Permission forms must be completed by parents for all church outings. - Teachers must arrive at least 15 minutes before class. - Teachers must ensure parents signed in and signed out their children. Youth Mentors - Must have application completed - Must be regular church attendees (minimum of 3 months) - Must complete “Reducing the Risk Training”. - Must pass a back ground check. - Must be interviewed by someone on the advisory team. - No “one-on-one’s” at mentors home. - Men with boys, and women with girls. - Must stay in public places for “one-on-one’s” - Permission forms must be completed by parents for all church outings.
